Clearview Chalet
When old and new are fused together; located minutes from the bottom of Blue Mountain in Collingwood, Ontario, Canadian Timberframes and UPSTREAM CONSTRUCTION are involved in preserving a small piece of recent history. Turn of the century log cabins were moved from Quebec and rebuilt in this unique retreat development. The client is wanting to incorporate this antique structure with a Douglas Fir timber frame addition that will compliment its beauty and nostalgia to a tee. A story-and-a-half Family Room had to be included to show off the timber trusses with their all-wood joinery detailing. By adding the Kitchen and Dining Room into the existing log structure, all guests to this rejuvenated ski chalet will be able to enjoy the memories the logs have to share as well as admire the newly integrated timber structure for years to come.
